Help with sub choice from kicker for lots of bass

They're dogging Kicker subs like they have extensive experiance...lol. If you get a Solo Baric subwoofer your box has to be built completely different than with a conventional circular subwoofer. If you build it right...it'll sound better and hit harder than their little whatevers...
If I were you I would get the 8" L7 and have your Kicker dealer build you a big box to spec. You won't regret it. Any particular reason you're going with a 600.4?

Ive never actually seen a solo baric before, but I feel that I can make a comment.
I have experiences with over 300+ solo barics, and no, that number is not exaggerated.
Just because a shop sold you one, and you have it in your car, dont act like an expert, and certainly dont degrade others' knowledge unless you have something to back it up with.

As for the sub it gives 300 RMS.
I want to save room, so I prefer a 4 channel amp.
Keep on going with the suggestions

However, that said... I'll be damned if someone new to the board is going to come into this forum and act like a jerk, be it towards Dave or any other member. Most and I mean most folks (like 90%) that hang out in this forum get along and treat each other with respect, weather or not they agree on different products. You may be new here so I'll tell you, so far I'm not real impressed with the way your acting/treating people.
Could I ask, what is your back ground in the car audio industry? And I would assume (stupid I know but..) that you understand that its ok for people to like different things, because everyones ears are different
GroovyNeilNeil - I'm going to have one sub and I'll be hitting harder than someone with two. It's all about your box, man. The hole that holds your spare tire accessories is easily 2 cubes...but if you drop a sub in there and seal it then you'll get no sound up front. Now the smart thing to do is to glass the entire trunk and have a slot port going up where the spare tire is supposed to be. Keep in mind I'm more for SPL over SQ any day.
If you want your car to go fast, don't get a system. If you want to hit hard, your car won't go fast. Pick one.
I have:
1 Kicker Solo X 12(dual 2 ohm)
1 Kicker KX1200.1
1 Kicker KX450.2
Pair of Kicker Resolution RS6 components
1 Pioneer DEH-P8600MP
1 Optima Yellow Top Battery
36 SQ FT Dynamat Xtreme
Just need:
150 amp Amptech alternator
Fiberglass box

BTW I really want to see your system can you post up a few pictures... and I still want to know how long you've been in the business?
John - please stop defending dave - no one came here and bashed him - 99% of Dave's post say say "blablabla if you don't have what i got it's crap"
my alarm for instance or when i had the factory head unit -
He bashes more than anyone (oh and i've been here a long time so i guess i can say this )

I'll post pics once I get it installed...lol.
However I do have pics of all the equipment except the solo x. It's at the shop where I purchased it. No need to buy it...take it home...take it back...etc.

(Yes, I'm aware those are 2 L7's and not a solo x. Just sold those Saturday)
Didn't mean to come on so rude to Dave...I just think it's ironic for him to be able to talk shit and get away with it so easily...so I played devils advocate.
As for me...I have little experiance with system installation and I have no background in car audio.

Steve where on here did I defend him? I said "As much as Dave and I get along (and we do quite well) we both have no problem liking different things." and that I liked Kicker...
As for your alarm/starter or any alarm/starter for that matter... unless they actually take the time to really do an awesome job(most places don't because that would take time, and time as you know is money)... if you have a key with a chip in it and you add an alarm/starter your actually making it easier for someone to steal your car. You removed the hardest part to by-pass...the chip, since the remote alarm/starter needs to have it in the car to start the car.
Most... and I stress MOST, (as in not all) aftermarket alarms are a joke. Do you really think a good thief doesn't know how to get around it... A system like Lo-Jake is the way to go or something with a paging system and/or a tracking system (Onstar).
Do I like Dave yes. Does he have a strong opinion yeah... we all do, including me. I'm an Alpine fan its no secert here and I will always recommend them because I've used there products for many, many years and they always performed very well and they have treated me and helped me out a ton. Are they the loudest? No but they quality it right there. You've heard my setup Steve... it sounds pretty good... and loud, at least loud enough to need ear plugs to properly tune it.
Do I think most aftermarket alarms are a joke and a waste of money,.. yup sure do. Do I really care if people buy them, no, not really, its not my car.
I give my suggestions just like most guys here. If people use my suggestions great, if not that's fine with me, I really don't get offended. I just know what works in this car really well and I try to help. But for someone to come in here and start saying this and that and not really having any clue what he/she is talking about is getting old. Steve you see it just as much as me. Noob's come in here with the oh I've done this or that in this 'other car and what your saying it wrong...bla bla bla... well 'this' car is very different compared to just about everything out on the road, you know that just as much as me. I've taken pretty much 80% of this car apart just short of pulling the engine. I have a greater understanding compared to a someone that hasn't taken the time to work on the car himself or to do what I have done.
I have plenty to learn about car audio, I don't consider myself and "expert" but I know what I know and my car sounds pretty damn good, with the looks to match, so I must be doing something right
because it gets better every year... as you will see on saturday
Now I'm defending myself dangit...
I'm done ranting....
