Default Hi Temp

It's freakin hot out here. (Phoenix) And I don't want to hear any of that dry heat . I'm talking like 110 is the daily average and it's screwing with my car. Here's the new queertron of the day for my S2000. I hop in the car and fire it up, and my Alpine 7878 HU says HI TEMP on it. It won't play, it won't eject discs, hell, it won't even shut off. But after driving around a bit it just starts working again. Heck, I'm confused. I thought that electronic devices heated up with power applied, the HU doesn't have a fan or any other cooling device. Is there something wrong with my player, or is it just going to suck living in the Phoenix heat?

Much obliged,
Bino

The interior of your car is much hotter than the ambient our outside, so your CD player was probably pretty darn hot. After driving around you either had the windows down or the AC on, so the player had a chance to cool down.

My suggestion would be to remove the alpine unit completely and install and griddle. Bingo, roadside diner, make yourself a bunch of cash.
Its just the internal temp of your car being simply too hot for the safe operation of the deck. Just pump the AC for a few minutes and you should be ok.
