and dash interface.

front speakers, Boston acoustics pro 60 pro60 system

sub in boot is a 8W JL audio which i will be buidling a large passenger side enclosure and to run the sub is a JL 500/1 500/1 picture

amp to run front set up is a JL audio 300/2 300/2 picture

i have managed to run cables to all the right places i have a in line fuse very close to the battery in the engine bay and a power spilter in the boot going from zero guage to 4 gauge x2 one to each of the amps two 4 guage earth leads strapped to good earth points in the boot.

i think i have worked everything out now, but if you can think of anything else i would be grateful.

Actually, there is really good wiring info in the sticky thread at the top of the electronics forum. Darkknight wrote it. Here:

EDIT: I see you got the same info from another thread. Sorry, hadn't seen that thread yet.

you will need (2) 2 channel rca's, about 12-15 feet of 0 gauge power wire, an inline circuit breaker, a few feet of 4 gauge power wire to run from a distribution block, (which you will also need), a few feet of 4 gauge ground wire and around 15 feet of 14 gauge primary wire for your remote turn on lead. then what ever speaker wire you need, which would very for your install. oh yes, you'll need new battery terminals to hold the new wire. jl makes very good accessories if you want to stick with them. you can buy full kits that will have pretty much everything you need at any car audio shop.

thanks for your help, only thing i didnt realise until i had run some of the cables was the UK cars are the other way round for wiring.

got zero gauge in running from battery to the boot earth wires are all in, speaker cable is all layed and covered, just waiting for fuse block which is needed in engine bay and then i have a power spiliter block which i will hose in the boot , takes zero gauge in to 4 gauge x 2 coming out.

i found JL RCA's which are really nice, couldnt find any other JL stuff, hard to get over here it seems. got 4mm speaker cable which is what the shop said would be good enough.

ran power leads down one side(passenger) and RCA's down the middle, with speaker cable runnign down drivers side as its opposite for UK cars.

I am building my own sub enclosure whcih will fit into the passenger side of the boot, taken the boot liner out so i can use it as a template to make the box fit perfectly. not to sure how to run cables in to power up sub, UK is crap for decent cable connectors which are on the back of sub boxes, will look for better makes when shops open again tomorrow.

I am going to find a place that can build a Ali amp rack which will fit into the tool well, then have them angled up at 45 degrees with a glass cover over the whole thing. will look good once all built, which will be in the next month or so.

i also found a guy who is going to re line the whole boot with a black cloth instead of grey this will also help hide cable holes better and look cool once done.

will post pictures as i get on.

cheers
