Default High current alternator

I've been looking quite a bit and can't seem to find any after market high current alternators for the S. I've found Alterstart in TX and they can wind me one but I need a core to start with...or send them mine and be without for 2-3 weeks.....AAAhhhhh . Anybody found anyone else that can do it or does anyone have a used 05 S alternator they would like to unload??? I could by new and send to them also but that sets me back $220 or so for just the core....Ouch!!!

Metra electronics makes a HO alt. I believe it is rated around 150 amps.

Checked the website...doesn't look like they do. If you found one would you send me the web address? I also e-mailed them this evening...we'll see what they say. Thanks for trying.

Any alternator shop should be able to rebuild your stock one to output more amps..

Just make sure you check what RPM the ratings come at.

Obviously, higher RPMs = a higher rating (more revolutions of the rotor generates higher current...yadda yadda yadda).

Like...I bought a 200 amp alternator for my truck. Unfortunately, I realistically only get maybe 150 amps tooling around town because the RPMs are low(er).
