Default home link installed

well go bored today on my day off so i installed a homelink garage door opener in the s2000

i had an extra visor from my old lexus IS300 so i took out the homelink from that and installed it into the center console arm rest. very happy with the way it turned out i was worried my arm would hit it while driving but its out of the way!

dont know if this has been done before but thought i would share. didnt have my camera with me at the time but if anyone want pics on how to do it i can rip it out agai to take some pics

thanks ill try and get some pics up later tonight as far as the DIY.

and i dont know about the size of the other homelinks so i would say this might only work with the leuxs IS300 style homelink. as its a tight fit under that arm rest.

Great post. I'm all for you ripping it out again and taking pics for the install. This looks like a great fix to an annoying issue of having to open the compartment to grap the remote every time I come home.

ok so i found time today to take a couple quick pics of the bottom side so you can see how i mounted it.

had to cut out the plastic so that the homelink would sit flush with the plastic under the material. not really that hard with the lexus home link i just traced it onto the plastic and cut it out with a dremel. then the lexus home link has a little ledge that sat right on top of the plastic arm rest peice once you cut out the hole. then i hot glued it in to make sure it didnt move.

then i cut the padding out that layed on top of the home link so it wouldnt pucker the material. then i adhesive sprayed the material back on like it was stock.

then to cut out your holes with a razor blade.

the i painted the buttons and surround with that "ricer" vinyl dash paint

then click it in. then do you wiring ground and a power
