Thumbs up Honda Alarm System

When I bought my 06 S I had the dealer installed alarm put in. It is a honda alarm. I did a quick search and couldn't find it. Any idea where it is installed?

On the 04 the main unit is under the driver's seat, but the harness connects to many other places.

If it is a Honda "factory" alarm system, then this should tell you what you want to know.

Honda Factory Alarm

I've found that not all dealers install the "factory" alarm system. Sometimes they use an aftermarket unit the mimicks the factory system but is cheaper for them so the maximize their profit margin.

FWIW!

Hope this helps!

hmmm...I got my alarm with the purchase of the alarm system isn't from Honda Factory. I thought Honda just used some other alarm as their factory alarm. Did I get gyped?

Mine came with a booklet that said honda on it, and had usage instructions. It matches the one in the installation instructions linked above. And it cost twice what it should have. Maybe you save some money, how much was yours?

Mine was the price on the honda.com website. They were going to charge me $50 more, but I told them about the website price which then they lowered the price.

Honda's web site, in the "build your car" section, lists the factory alarm at $448. H & A Accessories, the place I linked above, lists it at $273.60 and an added $54 if you opt for the hood switch. That brings it up to $327.60. That's a $120.40 savings. Then you've got to get either one of them installed. If you're up to doing it yourself, you can save that money. I installed a factory alarm system, bought from H & A, in an '01 Odyssey I used to own. It was actually pretty simple as it plugs into existing wiring. The hardest part of the process was crawling up under the dashboard to get to wiring connectors needed but that wasn't really as bad as I expected it to be. On a car as small as an S2000, I'm not so sure that my 6'2" frame could make the squeeze.

FWIW!
Good luck,
Steve R.
