subscribing for more info.

the kpro requires some sensor mods.
the EMS requires the modifry pack to make the coolant temp work.

does the EMS work with your trip odometer and such?

yes tech aem ems requires modifry adapter to make coolant gauge function properly, but wihtout it you still have a warning light for overheat. forget all that though, if you go with aem ems, your going to own a serial gauge, and bam, 19 user selected sensors for your viewing pleasure! i bought the modifry adapter, but have yet to install it since i use the aem serial gauge.

lets see, i have the following in my gauge:
map psi
bat volt
engine temp
intake air temp
o2 afr
o2 feedback %
knock
rpm
speed

and you can do up to 19!

aem ems FTW aem serial gauge FTMFW!

hrm. i was hoping to use the PLX gauges. their shallow depth should fit right in the radio door.

im confused about what happens when you use ems and a wideband.
do i replace my stock primary, and leave the 2nd o2?

with aem ems, your secondary does bubkis. aem ems is obd1 i think. no emissions stuff work. you would replace your stock 02 with a wideband o2 and wire into ems. ems with XXXXU, ie 1052U have built in capability. ems 1052 can still use it, just have to wire into the harness to make it work. i highly reccomend 1052U with aem wideband. plug and play.

if you need emmisioins compliance, kpro is the way to go.
