Hooking up a couple of subs to stock stereo...
Hey guys, I'm kind of a newb to stereos/electronics and usually focus my money/efforts on performance parts, but I had a question. I have two Kicker 10" Subs and a Sony Xplod 750W amp that I had left over from my past car that I would like to install on my S2K. I'm not looking to update the HU, because in all honesty I can't afford to do so right now.
Well here's my predicament, Saturday after cleaning my car I decided to look around to see if I could install the subs, and found the rear speaker harness behind the seats, now how would I hook up the subs using this harness ( if it's possible ), and is there any wiring diagram showing which wires are what? Can I splice into the wires for the rear speaker harness and use this for the signal? If this is not the best idea then anyone have any recommendations? TIA.

There should be no prolblem if the wiring to the rear speakers is real, there is no rear speaker wiring in a stock S2000. You may have to change the low pass in the stock HU (if any). I didn't put a sub into my system as it isn;t as necessary for the type of music I listen to.

yes, you can add subs and an amp to the stock head unit. you'll need an adapter that will allow you to hook up rears, then go into the amp through some line level converters. Lucid sells a harness that allows you to use the factory stereo rear output.
you might want to try a search looking for: amp stock stereo.
