In a new car, it's taped inside the glove box and on a piece of paper inside the manual.

If you have neither of these things, there's really only one way to get the code:

You need to drive to the dealer so they can look at the radio serial number with their very own eyes, then use that serial number to look up your security code for you.

No, they absolutely will not do it over the phone. There's no way to ensure that there really is an S2000 attached to the radio that way.

Well, on my 04 it was actually written on the bottom of the stereo, but you'd still have to pull it out to check, which is a pain. I know I saw a thread here where someone explained you could get the code from the radio without removing it, but I can't find it.

Driving to the dealership is probably your best bet. Also, if this search is down, you can Google: "radio code site:www.s2ki.com" and search the site.

Thanks for the help. I went to the Dealer and they wanted to charge me an hour labor to remove the stereo. So I just removed everything so I can drive there and they can see the car, stereo and serial number easily. I'm sure they'll still charge me for the code.

My dealership gave me the code over the phone

Anyway, Ajserrano, what ever you do -- DO NOT PAY FOR THE CODE! That's total B.S. and it only takes the dealership 10 seconds to look it up. I only had to give them my VIN and 10 seconds later, I had my code. If your dealership still trys to charge you after you remove the stereo for them, then go to another dealership.

Who the hell would want to steal our crappie radios? If you went through the trouble of pulling the stock unit, might I suggest buying an aftermarket HU and Modifry's DCI?

They're not supposed to ever do that. Looks like someone didn't get the memo.
I totally agree. It does make the "anti-theft" technique rather ineffective and it's very irresponsible on the dealership's part

But, I also agree with Saki GT. I don't know why anyone would want our crappy stereo. If someone were to steal mine, I wouldn't mind so much--now I have a perfect excuse to upgrade Besides, if they break in my car, they're going to make off with other much more expensive stuff. The stereo would be my very least of worries.
