how do i get sound
uhhh,.,, you totally want to get power to the amp directly from the battery, and not spliced from thin power wire @ HU harness.
the stock HU outputs at line-level, so you can get a 20$ lineout converter to convert it to RCA to plug into the amp.

I know how to hook up an amp. I have the power wire running from the battery the ground hooked up in the trunk and the remote wire spliced with the white/red wire.
I have an aftermarket cd/dvd HU on the way. I will just wait to hook up the sub when I get the HU. The HU has a subwoofer output.
I just was wondering if there was a quick way to try out the sub.

Yes, you can use a speaker level to line level adaptor hooked to the rear channels of your head unit. If you do not already have rear speakers, then the fader will act as a level control for the sub. If you don't use the level converter, the voltage from the speaker outputs from the head unit will be too high.
