from the batter (engine bay) through the firewall and into the passenger cabin?

I can't seem to find a whole where I can use to push through an 8 ga. power wire.

You need to move the battery aside to get to it. Pull the grommet out, then use pliers to stretch it. Make a couple of slits (careful not to cut any wires) to allow the power line to push through. The wire will end up on your passenger side floor
