Default Running RCA and Power wires to the back.

Hey guys,

I am in the middle of installing my system and i had a few questions. I searched but none of the results specifically concentrated on my area.

1. Is there any way of running the power wire from the battery to the inside of cabin without drilling a hole in the firewall? if not, where is the most optimal location to drill the hole? I know that i must run the power wire thru the driver's side so any idea on this?

2. I am going to be running the RCA through the passenger side and Power thru the driver's side. How do i need to get thru the seat to get the wires into the trunk? do i just stick the wires thru the "vent" looking holes behind the seat or is there a more discrete way of getting the wires to the trunk?

Thank you very much in advance and i really appreciate your help.

Tim.

I suggest reading darkknights FAQ at the top of the forum. ALL of your questions will be answered there.

FYI after reading his FAQ, if you want a different location to enter the firewall, there is a grommet behind the battery as well.

yeah i created this thread after reading all of that. It doesnt specifically go into my areas of concern, but just says to run the wires through the back of the seats, etc. Should i run the wires thru the vents behind the seats or is there a way that will hide the wires a bit more nicely? Also, where would i need to drill the hole in the firewall? Thanks in advance guys.

No, no drilling! There is a grommet on either side of the car, one where John describes in his FAQ on the drivers side and one behind the battery. Poke through that and slip the wire through into the cabin.

Remove the pannels behind the seats and run the wires to the trunk behind them, and then replace them. The two pannels are held on by two screws that are inside the small hooks.

i just finsihed a system install on my 06..

i ran the power wire down the passenger side right to the battery.

i ran the rca's and remote wire right up the center console

an obisuvly the speaker lines down each side, it was pretty easy..

there is a gromet right near the battery,m i just cut it a little, and put some soap on the end of the wire and it jsut lsid thru the garmet like freakin butter, went it soo smoothly

thanks a LOT guys. I just finished all the wiring and just need to install the head unit, amp and sub. Everything went smoothly and i am a very happy camper.

Just for kicks, here is my setup.

Pioneer deh-7800mp
jl w3v3 10" with jl stealth box
alpine mrd-350 amp
monster cable amp kit good for 1000 watts (incase i upgrade in the future)

I just opted for a clean tight setup and that's what i got. Thanks again!
