Default How do our door locks work?

I emailed Autopresevers (www.caraudio-caralarms.com) and asked which bypass module I needed to fit into the S. He told me which one I needed but then added...

"Also, the factory power door lock system is a "5-wire" type and will require a DEI 451M Door Lock Relay Module to interface with most aftermarket keyless entry systems.

DEI 451M http://www.caraudio-caralarms.com/451M.html "

I will be installing a Compustar alarm... incase it matters.

Is this true? Can anyone verify this? Thanks.

s2000 door lock is "reverse polarity"(5wi), which means, it's NOT like regular honda.

If you installed Door Actuator for any car, you should be very familiar with this type of door lock system.

First, you have to find door lock wires. (The wires for s2000 is located behind the start button "black box")
Second, you cut them (this is a MUST)
Third, feed positive and negative to each wire, if it locks the first try, reverse the polarity and it'll unlock.

If you want to save money, you dont have to buy DEI 451M, all you need is 2 relays.
BTW. if you buy Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5, it comes with DEI 451M

I'm just wondering, are you trying to install remote start alarm on your own?

If it's your first alarm s2000 is not the easiest car to put alarm on.
