Default How do you turn on the OEM radio?

Does anybody know if it is possible to turn on the OEM radio from the side controls (left of the steering wheel) . I have an 02 ap1 if it matters.
Thanks for the help.

No, unless you have rear panel speekers and get the Lucid rear speaker harness which makes the "mute" button an ON/OFF switch.

I no longer have the oem radio, but my memory is that hitting the
large "mode" button will turn on the unit, but there's no way to turn
it off from the dash controls.

Tried this on my '06 today with OEM HE - MODE button will not power on the unit. Don't think it is do-able stock.

Five freakin' years and I didn't know this!

If you get this from Lucid, make sure you ask for the one that turns off with mute. He used to make one that didn't turn off the HU, but only muted. However, I don't think he makes that one anymore.

I'm glad I was able to give you some new info. I believe it was you, who initially confirmed to us all that using the wrong diff fluid results in a grenaded diff.

I have an '06 and if you hold down the volume button the stereo will turn off (the volume goes to zero then the next push will be power.)
