I am running a Rockford Fosgate 3002 (300wx1) and a Rockford 10" stage 2, sounds great and puts out a smooth deep boom.

Im thinking I will be switching to JL Audio in the spring, the 10w3v2 sounds great and doesnt take a monster amp to run it.

I'm running an Alpine Type R 12" in the tool well, I had a custom box made that basically looks identical to the JL stealth box. I'm using a 600 w Kenwood amp to power it, 300 watts rms. It hits nice and hard. But when its toned down, I get nice low end fill without over powering the music. My alpine 9833 has a plethora of options to tweak the sound. I like mellow bass, but when I want the house shaking bass, I just turn up the levels. Very little trunk rattle, but that stupid panel under the convertible top is another story. Especially with the top up. Next project is to dynamat the thing

I have the Polk C300.2 bridged @ 550w powering a pair of Eclipse SW8102.4 (10") in a fiberglass enclosure in the tool well. It hits hard and clean with anything I've thrown at it so far. The only rattle issue I have so far is with the wing, but I don't hear it when driving, so what do I care.

I have an Oz 12 inch sub being powered with an audison amp, its getting about 200 watts. I am rather disappointed. On the highway with the top down I can't really hear the sub. I am planning on upgrading my amp

Good info so far.

Is there enough volume in the well of the trunk to run a 12" jl audio w6 properly?

I guess it could be done.....I think the 12w6 requires .9CF. (not sure on this, though). I am pretty sure you can get 1.0 (or a bit more) CF with a fiberglass box.

The 12w6 takes 1.25 cu of sealed airspace, I would jump down to the 10w6 which only needs .62cuft sealed or better yet .75 ported. The ported enclosure should make for a smooth deep bass response.

The best part is that the box info has already been prepared for you thanks to the FAQ's, the middle box ported would do well for the 10w6.

Run that sub with the Slash series 250/1 or the e 1400d would certainly put some bump in your system. If you were looking for a 1 amp solution ( to drive the fronts and the sub) The 450/4 would rock.

Hope that helps!

A sub gets thru to the gabin just fine in the S2000. That thin, barely insulated plastic convertible top tray lets plenty of bass in, along with road noise, tire noise, etc. I tried wedging my car cover under that tray as an experiment to reduce road noise, and it definitely reduced the effectiveness of my sub.
