Default how to route mp3 cable out of deck?

I'm planning on purchasing an alpine ida-x100 soon and was wondering how you can route the cable behind the deck out. Which area would the cable come out from?

I'm going to be buying a modifry phone mount that sits next to the climate controls as well

You can pull it out either the left or right console covers (they are shaped a bit like an ear). I read somewhere about running a line straight under the front edge and next to the shifter, but mine seemed solid there? I pushed a coat hanger into the area and never did find the other end. So I have a small exposed loop, hugging the console cover and up to the bottom edge of the tranny hump leather (fabric?) cover and into the central hump. Can't tell it is there if you're not looking for it.

Then it runs through the central hump and out the back, tie wrapped to not interfere with the hand brake cable. I didn't remove the glove box so I have another short section exposed right under it and into the box for my Ipod.

I'm not sure I'm following. Do you have any pics?

I need to route the cable so it can connect to the iPhone mounted next to the climate controls.

well he was explaining how he routed it into the center console glove box. Thats where everyone runs the wire to just for the easy fact that you can keep your ipod in there without it being visible. but in your case, your wanting to mount your iphone next to your climate control and wanted to know how to run a wire up to it there? well you should just use the blue tooth feature on the alpine head unit and on your i phone. WIRELESS, problem solved!

The head unit install thread fully details this.

You can also run the cable out the left or right side of the center console as mentioned. My DCI does this and is stashed in the netting in the passenger footwell. The harness comes off the back of the HU and comes out just above the netting.

if you look into your HU space on the right you can see a hole with light from the floor board. its approximately 4-5in into the HU bay on the right. I just slid mine through the gap and have a long cord so I can still talk on the phone without unplugging the iphone. the HU is sweet because it pauses the music and rings the phone and when you hang up the music starts again

I have exactly what you are looking for

I pulled my mp3/AUX cable out from the vent right above the stock radio. (yes, its a vent...not decoration)

The mount is very steady, but installation will require a little cutting under the dash. Once you put everything back together, you wont notice anything.
