Default how to turn proxy sensor off?

I have the clifford 50.7x and need to turn the proxy sensor off at night due to cats running underneath my car and setting it off just about everyday at 3am. I need sleep and don't want to continue to piss off my neighbors. Is there anyway I can turn them off without actually unplugging it?

You will actually have to unplug it. Also, a lot of the time motion sensors are pig-tailed with the impact sensor so make sure that one is still connected when you go to unplug your motion sensor. You can always have the motion sensor adjusted so that the field isn't big enough to be underneath the car.

Well I took back to the installer and he dialed it all the way down to where it wasn't going to dial down any further, but again its still setting off. Im almost 100% sure its the cats that set it off because its constantly going off and I think they sit underneath the car since its covered up.

Which model of the proxy sensor do you have? I had a DEI one, and it started tripping my alarm for no apparent reason. I asked around and was told that it was a faulty design and next to all of the units have the similar problems after a few years of use. A well-respected security installer on HT said that he stopped using them and advised those that plan too due to that reason.

Yeah I have a DEI one. It goes off all the time for no reason. Pissed me off so I ended up unplugging it.

Is there one made by clifford or another company other than DEI?

Would I be able to just swap that proxy sensor in using the same harness or wire that I plug into the DEI? I don't want to re-wire things again or pay someone to do it again.

DEI is the company that Clifford, Viper, and Python are all under. Its just a different name but all three are the same essentially and all the parts are interchangeble.

Probably the best thing to do. Proxy sensors are a pain to get programed correctly because they are effected by temperature. Best thing to do if you want to keep it is to just dial the main sensor down and you can leave the secondary (the "warning" chirp) alone. This way if anyone gets close to your radio, center console, or seats, the alarm will be triggered.
