Over the weekend I upgraded my HU to the Alpine 9813, wired for rear speakers and replaced the stock door wires (thanks MacGyver, anyone attempting to do this needs to read his webpage and use a zip strip. W/O the zip strip I did the passenger door in 10 minutes, snaking 12 Gauge thru. Tried the same thing on the Driver side and wasted 3 hours. The zip strip went thru the frist time).

CD and speakers work fine. But AM reception is non-existant and FM is clear only for stations nearby. I went to Crutchfields help site and one of the things they mention is an antenna 'booster' and sugg. hooking it up to the 'blue' wire on a decks harness. I did not do this when I wired the harness because the Alpine manual when it refers to the 'Blue' wire says "Connect this lead to the +B lead of your power antenna, if applicable. This lead should be used only for controlling the vehicle's power antenna. Do not use this lead to turn on an amplifier, or signal processor, etc...."

Not sure if the line is a +B line.

Anyone install an Alpine and connect the 'Blue' lead?

Thanks,

Got what I need from 'Search', looks like the answer is yes I need to connect them.

Thanks,

Jim
