Default i have a "sirius" problem

i'm getting a very small amount of static, it's just enough for me to know it's their. it's hard to explain but i get it mostly during rap and if i'm listening to a talk show their is none at all. it seems to happen when the bass hits, and it makes it sound like my speakers are just barely busted. if i turn on my regular radio it sounds fine. i've been through three different receivers because i thought it might be the brand. and i have tried all of my frequencies and retraced the antenna to make sure there are no nots in it. i've taken it to a audio shop and they have know idea what it is. at this time i'm using the starmate unit. can someone please help me, this is making it a miserable drive to and from work. thanks

Sounds like you are using an FM modulator. You will always have static with an FM modulator.

Either that or maybe your power cable is not the proper gauge. Are you running amps? Give us a list of your components. Who did the install?

Their audio is digitized and compressed. It's also possible you are hearing artifacts of this process.

So then you are using an FM modulator? That is destined to give bad results.

ok is it static (like a radio station fading out) or is it a high pitched whirring noise?

the radio station is not fading out and it happens during the lows, bass. it sounds as if my speaker is almost busted.
