I tried the SN trick on my MY2000 and it didn't work. Either I did it wrong or they didn't add that feature until later. Has anyone done this on a 2000?

The radio codes for cars are stored at the dealerships databases, where vehicle has been first pdi'ed(pre delivery inspection). most likely if you go to the dealership where you have bought your car from, they can provide the code for you. If the dealership that you bught your car from cant supply you the code without taking the oem cd player out, most likely it was a car which came from a dealer trade, from another dealership. In that case the dealership which send the car to the one that you have bought from has the code that you can call them and get your code.

When I switched out decks, I gave my stock one to an s2ki user whose original had been stolen.

Being a little slow, I forgot to give her the code. By the time I had found it, she had already called up a friend at a Honda dealership who solved the problem...I think I gave her my VIN but not much beyond that...

Some dealers put the serial number in your hidden glove box (look for a sticker), some actually put the serial number sticker in your trunk. If your dealer did (like mine), then any honda dealer can put the serial number in their computer to get the security code.

If not, the originating dealer should have it on file (cross referenced to your vin #)

The trick to press 1 + 6 at power up worked great for me. I called the dealer ship with the serial number and got the speach about having to bring the car in with proof of ownership. Hung up and call back and got a different guy in service dept. He gave me the code over the phone no prob. Like so many things in life... just gotta ask the right person!
