Default I need a new battery.

What battery are you guys running after your stereo upgrades? Mine was getting kind of weak, so I need to replace it anyways for the upcoming Fall/Winter seasons. It's some cheap off-brand.

What do you guys recommend since I will be doing some stereo upgrades soon as well?

just get the one with the same or higher CCA and same group size.

i personally don't trust optima or "premium" battery, just don't have it rattle, deep discharge and it will easily last 5-7 years.

my mom's battery lasted for 10 years with zero cares.

No need to go Optima. Maybe I just had bad luck with the couple that I had, but they did not last very long. Just find something with a good warranty. The Die Hard is a great choice. K-Mart used to have a Motivator series, don't know if they still do. That was one of the best batteries I ever purchased.

Check here....http://www.kinetikaudio.com/

HC1400 is the way to go. I've used these for years. Top quality, high current, no spill design. Optima has gone downhill over the last few years. They will be hit and miss on quality.

You won't be disappointed!!!

Costco for batteries....can't beat the $40 price and it was more reliable than the Optima I had.

I have had my optima red top in 4 different cars over the last 4 years and have had big stereos in every car and have never had one problem to this day, never needed a jump, but have given many jumps to fellows with other Wal-mart batteries. As far as im concerened OPTIMA is the way to go.
