Default iDA-X001 - when hooked up to an iPod?

When the iPod is hooked up via the USD --iPod connector, you can not browse the iPod or select songs. Basically, when it is hooked up tot he deck, you have to use the deck to browse and select songs?

Is there a way to browse using the iPod as well when it is hooked up to the iDA-X001??

If you want to do that, you'd need to buy a more generic stereo that has a simple aux input instead of an Ipod cable connection.

No, you can't control anything from your IPOD. The whole point of the IDA is that you can keep your ipod hidden, and control everything from the deck.

I get it, it is strange that it can't go both ways.
I am getting used to controlling it with the deck so works well now.
It is a great unit.
