If a stereo is stolen
I just had a stereo stolen out of my daily driver. It was a Pioneer Premiere DEH 350. Unfortunatley, I forgot to remove the face plate. Anyway, I was wondering if these new headunits have any technology where once the power source is unplugged and the wires are cut if they are unable to reinstall it in another vehicle. I was thinking more of a memory issue. IE when we disconect the S2000 battery, we need the radio code to reset. Is this something that aftermarket units have.
uhm generally no that's not the case. some aftermarket head units have this feature (and maybe your pioneer did) but more often then not they don't
I know it would make you feel better if it was useless to the crooks, but these things happen, sorry!

Eclipse decks have the ESN feature which disables the deck if it is removed from the vehicle...
It works by making you have to use a "Key CD" to unlock the deck if the battery is disconnected...
IIRC, you can use any CD you want and program the deck to make it the "key CD"
