Default I'm having engine noise =/

So from what I read, as long as I keep the power wire separate from the rca's and speaker cables I shouldn't have any engine noise. Also, I kept the ground wire going from the amp less then a foot long and its a 4 gauge wire. I havn't trimmed the power cable yet, its still a bit long since I'm still trying to figure out where I want to permanently mount it. So what am I doing wrong? Any help guys?

Power wire straight to battery? Is your ground clean (straight to bare metal)? Or, a cheap RCA cable will do that too. Use a Monster Cable RCA they are shielded.

My rca's are for car audio. They are shielded, which I purchased from millionbuy. The power cable is straight to the amp, aside from the fuse near the batter. As for the ground, I'm using the factory ground thats located in teh trunk. The wire for the ground is really short and pretty thick. I'm using a 4 gauge wire for power and ground. Power is going down the passenger side and rca's with speaker wire is going down the driver side. So what am I doing wrong?

You should switch the RCA and the power cable. The drivers side has all the power leads on it and the passenger side is empty, with regards power lines.

Okay, I guess i'll give that a try today, I just saw on some post that people were running the power down the passenger side. I'll do anything to get rid of this noise. Thx for the reply.

Okay, now I have no idea whats going on with this. I tried running the power down the driver and now the rca's through the passenger, but I'm now getting a really loud high pitched noise. No matter how high or low I set the volume, the noise is at the same level. What am I doing wrong?

Is you power lead connected directly to your battery? What brand RCA's are you using? What you say shielded what do you mean by that? Are you saying they have a metal braid in the RCA that can be grounded to cut out noise?

What brand are they?

What brand are your AMP's

I'm using the factory ground as everyone has suggested, thats the only one I've been using.

The power is directly connected to the battery to the amplifier with one fuse in the way.

I believe that the rca's I'm using are sheilded where it said it is braided copper and metal foil. Here's the link to the site which I bought them from.

As for the amps, I'm using soundstream amps. The EGA4220, here's the link for that http://www.millionbuy.com/souega4220.html

I'm also running a 1.2 farad capacitor which I bought from teh same site. Here's the link for that http://www.millionbuy.com/ahfpowercap.html

Don't know what I'm doing wrong here, but the noise is driving me crazy, its so loud that I can hear it from outside my car with the top down Could anyone please help?
