Default I'm having major dilemnas with my S!

I posted to you all about the alarm, and received no responses. I was installing my stereo last night and had the battery disconnected. When I attemped to attach the battery the horn started blaring without a pause. So I tried pulling the horn relay. Tried to disarm with the remote, nothing! I tried to turn the car over nothing. I will tell you all that when I attach the battery I hear a humming sound coming from a little thing in front of the brake cylinder (I believe) and it has little mini metal pipes coming out of it into the brake cylinder. Location is on the right rear of the engine compartment.
I really need to start my car PLEASE HELP! Honda doesn't even know what the problem is. Where is the valet switch? What do I do!!

dude, I'd help if I could but this is outta my league.... Sorry. I'm sure there's an installer in this thread that could help you out.

My deepest sympathies...

Sorry I have no idea either....wonder if anyone out there has a factory alarm and installed a system in their car.....did they have the same problem as you? this way you can figure out if it's a special case with this problem you're having?

First off disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it will not set off your alarm. Trust me I do it all the time

If you installing just a stereo system you should have no reason to touch the factory alarm system. What did you cut into, anything? Did you melt anything with a soldiering iron by mistake? I've had my system install for 2 years when lighting and all kinds of stuff wired under the dash and I have never had any problems?

Can you give us more info about the install, ie what you touched?

As for the box with the small metal pipes coming out of it, thats the braking system Don't touch that unless you know what your doing with it

I am such an ASS, I had installed the battery backwards. There was a white G on the battery and I assumed that it was ground. NFR helped me out with that one.

OMG! doh!

sorry, i know NOTHING of the OEM alarm, so i'm absolutely useless in terms of helping with it.

and John,
First off disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it will not set off your alarm. Trust me I do it all the time
some Vipers (DEI) will do it... i've had 2 that would. i don't recall if my current DEI on the S will. but two others that i had on previous cars, and 2 different ones that friends of mine have did/do.

they detected a disconnected battery as an intrusion attempt and would immediately arm and go off when reconnected, also invoking the starter kill.

go fig.
