Default Info on how to install MP3 type device

I installed this Friday, and I totally love it. No static, and now I have over 4 1/2 hours of uninterupted music to cruise with.

Was out Sat nite with some of the Houstooks and showed it off, anyone interested, this is where I got it. Once I figured out how to remove the radio door, the entire install took less than 30 minutes.

As of now my Mini Disc player is just kind of sitting on the seat or floor, still looking for a cool place to mount it.

How do you select the auxillary input? (What year is your radio?) I don't have a CD changer so I don't know how you ordinarily would switch to the next CD, and in this case, to the MP3 device.

I have this same thing - you just push the CD button again, and it then is set for the CD changer, which is now the AUX.

With this setup you have all the dash controls except, the CH. Because you are only connected through a 3.5mm plug. To advance through the tracks you have to do it on your device.

Luft is correct, once you connect this to the back of your radio, you gain another function of the Audio Control, AUX.

Yeah, I use it for my cassette player and MiniDisc, as well as MP3s. One warning for new users, you will need to run a ground from one of the RCA plugs....

I'm having mounting issues too with an MP3 player (Archos MMJB 20) and I don't want to drill any holes in my car. It's 4.3" x 3.1" x 1.1", and weighs a little more than half a pound. I found a bracket which bolts onto the stereo bracket at www.panavise.com (look under cellular) specifically for the S2K for $30 (looks simple: I'm going to try to make my own). And then you would have to get some kind of holder that would attach to the bracket; I'm going to try a cheap swivel mount I got at Best Buy.

By the way, Luft, should it matter which RCA plug you ground? I'm noticing a difference in balance depending on which plug I use.

I'll try that again with a different cable, maybe that's the problem...

I found out about the Panavise stuff at Car Toys, but they didn't have it available online. You could probably just call car audio places in your area and ask for it.
