Install woes
I have been installing my system all weekend, HU, Tweets, woofer, amp, active crossover. I installed everything per Darknights wiring install. Finally after many hours get ready to set the gains and everything and of course nothing happens. my headunit powers up but there is no sound. since i am running a four channel amp i go to the trunk to check it out. there is a light on my amp, but not one on my crossover. i have 4 gauge running from the battery to the trunk, then i have a fused splitter that i run 8 guage to my amp and crossover. I get my fluke meter out and realize i only have 6.5 volts to coming from my batter to the splitter. then i have 6.5 volts going to my amp and crossover. at the battery I have 14 volts. so what is wrong. the wire coming from the batter is one piece except fot the inline fuse that is 12 inches from the battery. any help would be appreciated. i am really tired of messing with it.
I movd my amp from under the seat to the trunk, the amp "turned on with a green lght " but there was no sound. i checked connections with a volt meter and turned out the place i had grounded to was bad. after connecting to another bolt, the power light on the amp was much brighter.
I will check the grounds. I used the bolts on the passager side illustrated in the FAQ. I will check and make sure they are good. The crossover is an Audiocontrol 4XS. The owners manual for the unit is located at:

I will check the ground and make sure it is a good connection. I will update what I find tomorrow. It is dark outside and I'm wore out. I had forgotten how draining installing could be.

I would agree it is most likely a ground problem. To check it you could always run a ground wire all the way back to the battery. It's not recommended as a permanent solution, but it should tell you where the problem lies.
Thanks guys. I will get to the bottom of it this afternoon. Just a long weekend of pulling wires, taking off panels, etc. tooks it's toll on me, then it didn't work. I was so tired and fustrated I just went to bed. Sorry if my posts seemed a little ill. All I can say is the door grommets are a PITA!
