Default Installed Cd Changer in secret compartment

I had my cd changer remounted in the secret compartment. Came out real nice! I still have room for three cd cases. I imagine an Alpine 12 disc could go there-but after waiting four hours I think I'll stick w/ the 6-disc. I'll post pictures when I have my tweeters custom installed in the A-Pillars. Should be in about two weeks!

Just wondering what it took to do this install. Was it with the factory CD changer or a smaller aftermarket one? How much cutting had to be done? Did you need to just cut holes for the cables or more than that?

thanks

I'll try and post a picture this weekend. The area where the changer is had to be cut to sink the changer down for it to fit . Then black carpet was used as a trim on the bottom and laid flat like the sunglass area is. the changer is actually held in by the snug fit of the compartment. I used the Alpine cha-s624.

Sounds like exactly what I had to do with my CHA-S624... Once you get over the idea of cutting up your car, it is fine

Do you think the 12-disc would fit?

I seriously doubt it, but would have to check the actual dimensions to be sure. Width would be the killer - if the CHA-1214 was any wider than the CHA-S624, then you would be in trouble... It took a lot of force to get the 6 disc in even with a fair bit of cutting of the 'secret compartment'.

I checked the dimensions. It looks like it will fit. I'll have to cut the bottom out more. Any one interested in the 6 disc?

The 12 disc measures out at : 2 3/8" X 9 13/16 " X 6" The compartment is 41/2"X 10" X 51/2".
