Default is installing headunit hard?

I should be getting my Alpine 9815 pretty soon. I have a little experience on hooking up amp, but i want to know if i will be able to install the hu with the DCI on my own? I have the Focal speakers and a audiobahn amp on my car right now.

The simple answer is: It depends.

If you are reasonably capable with a soldering iron, and can follow simple schematics (like green to green and black to black) then you are in pretty good shape. This is where it gets a little confusing though:

If you are reusing the factory wiring, it will be as easy as mentioned above.

If you are planning to run new speaker wire and interconnects then it is more tricky. Not because of the HU, but because of running all the wire, especially into the doors for the speaker wire.

If you can hook up and amp, you should be fine. There are lots of instructions available to do the job, check out:

MacGyver's:

Lucid's:

You can find more if you do a search.

Good luck!
