Default Interior lights (again!)

Hi,

In amongst the various interior light threads, I can't see one that shows where to take the positive feed so that additional (LED) lights are switched on with the interior lights. Can I take a feed off the interior fuse box? - if so, which wire should I take this feed from?
I have read the threads that describe taking permanent live from the fuse box, and a switch from the alarm circuit using a relay, but this seems over-complicated. This may be the only way, but wanted to check.

Whilst I'm on...... is there a way of increasing the delay before the interior lights are switched off after the door is shut?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

its possible but you are wandering into " slightly" more than simple. there are plenty of diy instructions for timer circuits out there.

2 options for you:
1. tap the positive and negative to your map lights and wire up an additional LED. this will cause your LEDs to be less bright (not sure if it's noticeable)
2. Relays. and tapping the door locks as a trigger to turn on the lights. Js2k has a write up on how to do this.

you would need a small capacitor to do this. timer circuit kits are the way to go with this but is a little more difficult if you think wiring a relay is "over-complicated"

Thanks all,

For the additional LEDs I'll probably go the relay route as per previous posts. It's not complicated to do, but I like the ideal of tapping into the switched live from the existing interior lights. However, specifically, where is it best to take this from ? As you say, LEDs shouldnt take much current, so I guess wont be too dim.
There are a couple of Kits for delayed lights-out, so might try one of them - they only cost a tenner (£'s), so it's not biggie if it doesnt work.

the interior lighting is a negative trigger by the way. not positive.

I'm not sure what you doing with the LED lights but there are three tap terminals on the Honda interior fuse box. There is one that is pos. dc battery, one pos. dc ign switched, & one for the parking light circuit. A 12v test light or volt meter can be used to id them. You can use a female spade terminal (insulated type) to plug right into the fuse box. I used the parking light terminal to power a switched night light LED for my console. I also installed the correct inline fuse to the LED pos DC power source.
