Default Ipad in dash ?

Just curious if its even possible.. Would i beable to take my ipad and make an indash out of it ? I want it to be flush ofcourse, how far deep would it have to go back in order for it to fit ? Would it be possible to have all wires connected but not beable to see them and only the ipad ? Sorry if this is a repeated thread

Not an expert... but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. It just sounds like it takes a lot of work and customization.

Yes it could be done. There is plenty of room back there (plus the iPad is so thin). Assuming a shop would do this, it would probably run you at least 600 dollars. I got a quote of 500 to install a 7" Touchscreen in my dash IF I bring the dash separate from the car. The guy wanted another 500 because he would have to deal with the air bags..

I have a friend who's really handy with stuff like this and he'd do it for a 12 pack and sum hotdogs : ) I know this is much more complicated than it seems but I do trust him so I guess once I let him know you guys said it can be done and we get cutting I'll start a build thread for others curious like me. I'm just curious about how deep I'd have to go since its much bigger than most in dashes I've seen on an s2000. Thanks guys, anything will help

It's definitely doable. The only problem I have with the idea as I pondered this in the past is the fact that not all applications run in landscape mode.

Hope you have a way to hide it from view when you aren't in the car. I would be worried about possible theft. Otherwise, sounds neat and look forward to seeing a possible thread on it!
