Default Ipod Connector

Hey everyone, Is it possible to get a connector that changes from Ipod to a standard Headphone jack?

I want to Use a factory Ipod Connector and use the adapter and connect it to my laptop so I can listen to all the music I have on there?

Car Radio------Factory Ipod Connnector------- Adapter-------Laptop

Does anyone know if this is possible?

If I'm understanding this correctly, Kingsta is looking for an adapter that would fit the male end of the factory Ipod adapter that would turn it into a 3.5mm connector male or female I would assume would work. And while not 100% positive, I would say no based on lack of demand for such a product. Best bet, while not ideal, would be an FM transmitter.

If you are looking for a cable that plugs into the bottom of the ipod, and turns into a 3.5mm jack....I dont think they make those, but Ill need to look around.

I don't think he has an ipod thus the reason for looking to plug the laptop in. The fact that no one even understands what it is he's trying to accomplish is the reason I would say something like this doesn't exist. My guess is he'll have to either go FM transmitter, new head unit with an aux output or figure the wiring out of the factory adapter and create his own harness.

So you want a wire with 3.5mm on both ends? Or 3.5mm on one end, and RCAs on the other?

Kingsta18:

You can still use your laptop. I use my powerbook g4 (on occasion) in my car when I want to listen to some of the podcasts I've downloaded. This is only on some occasions when I don't have my IPOD with me because the sound quality you get by directly connecting an auxiliary adapter directly to the powerbook's microphone/headphone plug pretty much sucks! Again, I only get a chance to listen to podcasts because I bring my powerbook with me to work. Otherwise, I really rely on my IPOD for music.

But yes, you can listen to all your music from Itunes by plugging your laptop (via microphone) to the headunit (via aux). You will need to buy an auxilary adapter that will work with your headunit. I'm using you still have your OEM radio?>?

I had an additional auxiliary adapter added to my headunit (Alpine CDA-9856) because I originally wanted to control the IPOD directly from the IPOD. The sound sucks, so I reverted back to using the other aux adapter that plugs directly from IPOD's dock instead of the microphone.

NFRs2000NYC or other electronics experts here should be able to tell you (confirm) whether or not you can add an auxiliary adapter from the back of MY06 OEM headunit. I don't know really know much about electronics, but I do know MAC
