Default iPod/iPhone AUX Hookup, stock headunit

Searched and browsed some of the old posts related to this with now dead eBay links. Is this adapter most people use? eBay the only place to get this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-S2000...5fAudioQ5fVideo

I have a 2004 with stock headunit, no trunk changer. Finally getting sick on handling cd's and want to start listening to podcasts during my commute without using a FM transmitter.

Thanks in advance.

I've had similar setups. honda accessories sells a white box with full integration for about $150.

What I found was a used headunit, plus DCI cable, plus ipod connector for $130. Way better than stock unit plus adapter.

A lot of good review with this one

Don't buy the one that was not tested for the iPhone (it must be iPhone compatabile), because if not, it will start notifying you in the screen "this accessories is not made for this iPhone... etc" and can mess up the software which you will have to restore to fix it.
I'm interested in something like this too, but Crutchfield's website says its not compatable with the stock 07 radio... is this just a misprint or incorrect info in their database?

Edit: Just looked at USA-Spec's website and it looks like the PA15-HON2 is compatable with 04+, and even integrates with the XM button to display track info. Pretty neat, I think I'll be giving it a shot.

You can use Honda's "hondamusiclink" it's technically discontinued but you can still order it from your local parts dept. No text display support.

You can also consider Neo Audio's Ipod kit at $199 it's a little pricey but I've used one in a Pilot and it was great. Bonus for not locking out the ipod's on board controls. If I were willing to spend more that's the way I'd go.

I'm using "isimple" which was available at Frys for $149 locally, but Best Buy will match. Text support and you can use the dash controls and h/u controls. The "brain" is rather large. Enough cable length to install in most logical places. Mine rus through the wimpy 06+ gove box. Lousy instructions though so good luck figuring out what h/u controls do what other than the tune knob, and the seek buttons. The "CH" button on the dash only scrolls the next track up.

I don't need it to charge the iPod/iPhone too - is a basic AUX red/white-headphone cable an option?

With any of these options, where do you feed the wire(s)? Through the center counsel or behind and through the bottom?
