Default Ipod Mounts

Ok so I got an Alipine 9856 + Ipod connector cable. It works great but now I want a stealth place to put my ipod when it is connected. It also needs to be able to be readily disconnected from the mount and cable so I can take it with me. Please post pics of where you've got your ipod mounted when its in your car and details the wiring and what was required to accomplish it so that I can repeat!

Thanks in advance

Simplicity.......

iPod mount

Wiring runs down the side of the transmission tunnel, just above the buttons that attach the vinyl covering. Totally stealth and in a lockable location. With the Alpine 9856 HU, there is no need to get to the iPod since you can't use its controls.

No pics because I'm out of town. Sorry.

Mine's the older Alpine that uses the interface box, which is mounted behind the glove box (wires run down the tunnel like above). The iPod cable then runs to the trunk where I have a cut-out in the trunk liner with a little can-cooler mounted behind the liner. I put the iPod in the foam cooler so it's out of the way of things f;opping around in the trunk. It's secure and I don't have to take it out of the car anytime I park it. I'd secure it in my auto-locking glove box but I've already got too much stuff in there.

Thanks @mkbruce!!

My Stealth-Installation

works perfect for me, as well.

Did not remove anything but the console-cover, using a strong wire as a "pivot", i pulled the cable into its position. Has been a pain in the ass but I did not want to rip out the whole interior...

If I had a Facelift-Console, I'd do it your way!

good call, the cupholders are worthless...

Here's mine, I didn't put it under the elastic strap because I didn't like the way it stressed the base of the iPod/cable.
