New Soundstream Van Gough 500.4 arrived today from Soundstream. Just to get everyone up to speed, I bought one of these amps a little over a month ago. All of the sudden I was having a distortion problem with the amp. With the help of PJK3 and NFRs2000NYC I was able to determine that I had a bad solder on the RCA connection. I tried on several occasions to contact the vendor I bought it from without any luck. Based on others experiences with buying online then getting screwed with the manufacture I figured I was the next one to get screwed.

Now the rest of the story.

I call Soundstream direct and talk with their customer service. First I could not believe I was able to talk with a human and not a voice mail. After describing the situation they immediately give me a RA# with instructions to return. I send it to them and two days after they received it I get a call from them with a tracking number. I received a brand new unit today and everything looks great. Wow a manufacture that puts out a great product and then actually stands behind their product without making the consumer jump through a million hoops. I was a good fan of soundstream, however, now I'm a great fan of soundstream. Great product with great service.

Time to go to the garage and install this puppy. Two weeks without sound is not fun.

Glad to hear it Jimbo.......

I had my Audiobahn go bonkers on me, and they are replacing it with a newer model (triple the price of my amp ) for free. Thats what I call service.

Dave -- Now that's what I call exceeding the consumers expectations. Have you got that screen mounted yet? I really want to see it.

Good to hear that SS customer service is almost as good as the free press they get here.

Well deserved -- great power ratings and sweet prices.

Plus great Customer Service -- I'm sold!

What you have the Rubicon hooked up to? How's it sound?

Rubicon and a couple of other SS amps are high on the list.
