Default JDM in dash navi modification

hey guys,

so i own a jdm s2000, and mine has a in dash navi, i went ahead and
bought the new AVH pioneer touch screen tv radio thinking it could work.
but when i took out the navi, there is no space behind it.

is there anyone here that has done some sort of modification to get a radio to fit there?

the ac vents are right behind the navi, i was thinking to heat them and bend them in a bit... but im not sure if there will be enough space even then.

my other alternative is to buy a seperate dvd monitor and dvd radio for the regular radio spot. but the monitor will only be able to play dvds... which is a waste. cause i dont watch crap in my car... so the monitor will be off all the time.
is there a slim touch screen radio that can fit there? that can maybe have the same interface as the pioneer but the cd slot is down in the radio compartment?

anyone else with suggestions?

here are some pics,
before i cut out the back.

and after with the vents showing.

There is a big thread on this called dash cutters club I think. To fit a double din unit you need to cut the vent and I believe air bag bracket or something like that.
That is what has been deterring me from doing this.

yeh i read it. i just bumped it up.
but if you look at my dash.
the JDM dash comes with a seperate tv navi. above the radio cubby hole.

so... i dont have to drill anything. the hole for the radio is already there.
my issue is BEHIND the navi. there istn enough space to fit the cd part.

the length of the radio is too long.
so wanted to know if anyone has done modifications to the AC vents or anything else to fit a radio in there.

heres another pic of the JDM dash with the tv nav

Yeah in that thread I have read where people cut the vent and also the airbag bracket to fit the deeper units. Don't think it is possible without doing that unfortunately.

I will see if I ca find it. Think it was in that dash cutters club. Damn vents get in the way of any normal depth double din unit.

Oh nice1 Glad you are liking it. Yeah not using the nuts is the weight to go. Just include them in case someone wants it to sit higher.

Seems like the only one that has done this is S4play and the back of his dash looks different than yours, maybe you should go with a flat screen instead of the double din. I have a pioneer that has GPS, plays movies, music and bluetooth for my phone all hard wired to my car and doesn't interferer with my Alpine deck and DCI. It's perfect.

Same as azunboy's :

well...
i had already bought the pioneer AVH.

which model is that?
i was going to do that as an alternative, but i understood that the monitor
would only play if im playing a movie or music video and i dont want that.
i wanted the monitor to be interfaced with the radio, so it can be
on while driving, instead of just black. cause i will never watch a movie in my car

ive been trying to contact S4play to ask what did he cut, i dont mind cutting behind my dash and fabricating mounts, i just need to know
what exactly.
and what are the consequenses of cutting
