JL Audio 8.1 Micro Sub
Just wondering if anyone has this, or has heard anything about it... I haven't checked, but it would seem that this thing could fit face down under the passenger side dash, which would kick some major bass in our car...

Here's a pretty good price:

Here's an Idea of what I'm thinking on a Miata:

Anyone with me on this, or does it look bogus? It seems so far that everyone likes it...

Hey deadpedal,
Actually I have the 8.2 version of this microsub. It fits perfectly in the trunk well and sounds great. The two 8" subs fire down into the floor. I have the enclosure raised about 2" with two pieces of wood attached to the box.
I can remove the whole thing in about 5 seconds just by disconnecting two wires if I need to utilize the trunk space.

jas2k - I just sent you an email, but if your like me you never check it...
How does it sound and where did you get the install done? I work in Pleasanton (Near Stone Ridge Mall) and would love to hear them in person if at all possible...
Thanks!

Hey deadpedal,

If you can wait a little while, JL Audio will have a stealthbox designed specifically for the S2000. Unless you are having a total custom install done, the stealthbox should fit and look better than any pre-fab box you just put in the trunk.
If you would like any more info on it, send me a PM or email

Jim,
I'm sure the pre-fab box looks and sounds great. JL makes a good quality product.
The stealthbox will be designed and tuned specifically for our car, and as the name implies it will look like an integrated part of the car.
Several members on this board, as well as myself, have been working with JL on this project. If it was not for the persistance and interest of the S2000online community, this project probably would never have come about.
I am trying to keep everyone informed that there will be a solution to the "lacking" stock stereo system. We should be grateful that a big name company like JL Audio is willing to do the R&D and produce a product for such a limited production car like the S2000.
