JL Audio Stealthbox
Joseph Colasanti <jcolasanti@jlaudio.com> at JL Audio wrote and said JL Audio is currently developing a Stealthbox for this vehicle. However, as it is still in the R&D phase, final information is not yet available. When we have specific information, it should be released on our web page: http://news.jlaudio.com/
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
i've been in contact with don vertrees who has been heading this up at JL and he'll let me know when everything is ready. he said it should only be a couple more months before it's ready for sale.
!
And that is precisely why I went with an alternative setup. When I first heard about this project in May, Don @ JL Audio said about August it would be ready for retail sale. I did not believe him at that time and went with an Infinity Basslink. Now if I would've waited for the Stealthbox, I would be waiting until atleast November, if Don's current projections are correct. Well, here in Michigan, that about the time my S2000 is going into storage and one season would be lost. In the meantime, I've enjoyed my setup all spring and summer long.
Thank goodness I did not wait.
BTW, the Basslink may not shake the neighborhood, but it does provide good bass inside the cabin. Additionally, I did not have to mount an amp for it. I only have one amp now for my door speakers and it is behind the passenger's seat (thank goodness that my fiance is short, my tall friends lose about 2" of legroom).
Good luck guys

psycholist, I was interested to hear you have fitted an Infinity basslink, I have been looking at one of these also due to the delay in the JL stealthbox or Honda custom fit sub. Where have you mounted this, I wondered if it would fit next to the spare in the void over the fuel tank?

I have not attempted to position the Basslink above the full tank or in the spare tire well, however, I doubt that it will fit there.
Good luck!!!
good things come to those who wait...i'd rather wait for a great stealth sub then rush out a mediocre product....the reason it's taking so long is cause they changed some of the design and specs while working on the system...it will be out soon enough and a member on this board is getting a free one for his troubles so i believe that shows good faith from the people at JL
If there is a significant performance difference, yes I'll switch too! The money I spend on the Basslink was well worth it so far (I'm not sure if I'd call it a mediocre product, but JL Audio has sweet stuff. Plus, I can move the Basslink to my Explorer.
Again, the Basslink will not shake the neighborhood. It does provide good bass in the cabin. And with the kind of music I listen to and my objectives for my sound system, it is doing a great job. My objective is to hear (and feel to a limited extent) the music, not to be heard by others outside. I do not want my system to take up a lot of space either.
Thus, I'm only willing to run 1 amp and it must go somewhere inside the cabin](I can't afford to lose any trunk space because I like taking the car on weekend trips with 2 set of golf clubs and clothes). I'm also not willing to lose my spare tire. So if I went with the JL Stealth, I would have to get a 3 or 4 channel amp, run the front channels to the doors, and run the sub or bridge rear to the JL Audio. In my estimations, the total cost will be over $1000.
At least with my current application, I already had a 2 channel amp from a previous setup. All it cost me was the Basslink, which I got a great deal on.
Good luck! I very curious how well the JL Audio turns out. I sure nobody will be disappointed because JL Audio has kick a$$ equipment.
