if it's in the spare tire, even if it's 6 inches thats going in, it will be closer to the cabin, instead of a 10" muffled out to the cabin.

That was JL's thought as well. Get the sound as close to the cabin as possible. I haven't heard the 6W0's, but they say 2 of them sound like a 10" or 12" driver.

i think a lot of people want it in the cubby because they've already put their amps in the well or in the spare tire. suppose those people who did add an amp or something and had the option of going back in time before doing anything, would this change your opinion of where the best place to have a stealthbox is?

I vote for where ever the base would sound the best. The only reason I would add a sub in my car is to get some good, solid, clean base INSIDE THE CABIN, where I can hear it. I know the possiblility for our car are very limited, but if the outcome is some weak, muffled base, I would be a pass. Therefore, if it would sound best going to in the well, go into well. If it is in the spare tire, be in the spare tire. Please ask JL audio where the best SOUNDING solution would be, afterall they are the expert. My 2 cents

John

judging by the poll so far, i don't think it'll help JL that much... seems to be a pretty even split.
