Default Just got new head unit installed - need help!

Hey everyone. I have a '04 s2k with oem speakers in the headrests. My CD player stopped working so I decided to get a new unit that also had a USb/Aux hook up as well. Install went fine but now when I play it, it doesn't have the same sound. I forgot to write down down I had my oem bass, treble, etc set at. Anyone have any recommendations? I miss being able to have music and a beautiful engine sound.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Sorry, I'm pretty bad when it comes to car electronics/audio

Are the left and right channels in phase? Here's a sound check:

Agree with the above plus it could be something in the settings too. A decent HU can really change the sound even with stock speakers. Last fall I installed a new top of the line Sony with a significant increase in power. Big selling point was Bluetooth for streaming and dash controls working. (Modfry's) I was going to eventually put in new speakers but frankly, the stock ones sound so much better I may not now. I also added insulation for NVH especially in the doors that really bought out the bass. Completely new sound.

Could also be something like reversing the polarity of the speaker wires.

Listen to the unit, as is. Then, reverse ONE channel's speaker wires (say, the driver's side). How's the bass and stereo imaging? If bass is more centered and better --- the original setup was out-of-phase.

HI man,

Tell me a little about your install. Did you do it yourself? If so, tell me how you did it. Which head unit did you install? Did the colors on the wiring harness match exactly? If not, how did you determine which ones to connect?

This should help us to figure out what might have gone wrong.
