Default Just ordered Alpine ida-x305 headunit -help!

Like the title says, I ordered an alpine ida-x305 headunit online, and i plan to have my buddy at best buy install it. I'm assuming I need a wiring harness for it? If so, should I order the $12.99 one from crutchfield, or do they stock that kinda stuff at best buy? Thanks.

if you want the headunit to work with your dash controls, you need a DCI,
and if you're buying a Modifry DCI, buy the harness from him because it will
have all the necessary wires.
He also makes a plug&play harness for Alpine that will simplify your install,
at a higher cost, if you like.
If you don't plan on using a DCI, Best Buy should have the harness in stock.

Thanks. I already have a Modifry infrared DCI, but i'm not sure how to hook it into the new head unit. I'd prefer to get a wired DCI, but i'm sure 'bout the xtra cost.

get the wired version and the plug-n-play harness, worth every penny imo.

if not, best buy will have the harness for s2k for sure anyways.

btw, running X305 and wired DCI with plug-n-play harness here

I just ordered the same thing, Crutchfield had that model on deep discount. $258 shipped. Also ordered the full setup from modifry. Wouldn't have been as knowledgeable without this forum!

if you already have a DCI, but not a harness, just confirm that the
harness you buy has the two s2000-specific wires for the dash and
mute switches. many generic Honda harnesses don't.

in all honesty, i havent even been using the DCI, I didnt like how the sensor was hanging out over the radio face, so I tucked it in the compartment and ive gotten used to just using the controls on the headunit. Weird, I know but that what I do!
