I got these PM's from "S2K:-)" He's still mad at me over the Amp thread... Was I SOOOO out of line?? I asked him to drop it... and instead he decided to PM me??

My final response to this, is at the bottom... I bolded his comments to me. You guys here know me... I can take whatever you need to say.

I'm not going to flip out because your acting like a child. Have your friends build their own boxes... or you can build them. I don't force anyone to buy from me. People buy from Kinetic because we do high quality work. I know it and people on this board know it.

Ridicules. Make Amends not enemies S2k;-). John is a great guy and you shouldn't block out such a great source of experience and knowledge and Friendship.

 

I don't envy people who offer products for sale through forums like this, even if they're making money at it. So many things can go wrong (including customers who change their minds on a whim) that migraine headaches just seem to come with the territory. It's particularly difficult in this age of instant gratification from Amazon and other big-time retailers to work in a small, limited niche, I expect.

For my part, I waited patiently and one day got a nice box of Dynamat Xtreme from the group order. If I'd been impatient or a compulsive worrier, I could have made a real pain of myself, I suppose, but the savings and convenience made it worth the wait.

It's too bad that lousy customers make life hard for vendors, because it limits the options that the rest of us have. HPH

 

DK is a good guy. he even mailed me a foamcore template for a beauty board for the trunkwell at zero cost!

 

People are wierd, John. I wouldn't sweat it. I saw nothing in that thread that you said that was out of line or even remotely agressive toward S2K. He was bashing Alpine, I would think it would be anyone's duty here to point out that this opinion is shared by very very few.

The stuff is not the be all and end all, but it is solid gear. I had my Alpine stuff that I loved, and I've had some fail. Overall, the sound is always excellent and build quality it usually fine. Ergonomics ..... well, not always the best but workable.

How exactly you "lost his business and the business of everyone he talks to" is a mystery. I guess he will not do business with anyone who disagrees with him. People are funny.
