Ahhh noobies. Remember way back when, the most we would argue over here would be regarding Phils crawfish vs NYC hotdogs, vs Maryland Crabcakes, etc etc.....now its all this piss and vinegar.
Everyone here knows I am very cool with John. I think he is a great guy, and helped this forum more than most of you will ever know.
Ive said in countless threads, even if John was a total A-Hole, I would still buy from him because his s2000 products are top notch, and most shops wont make a product as good.
S2k: you were wrong, plain and simple. Dont attack the hands that feed you on s2ki....and John is a hand.
Phoenix Gold is NOT better than Alpine, and unless you are talking about certain lines vs. certain lines, Alpine is 90% of the time better than PG.
Just because you and your friends have PG and liked it, doesnt mean its better than alpine.
Ive owned/used over 40 alpine pieces of equipment, and not one has ever failed me. NOT ONE.
So, play nice, and when you want to start an arguement on s2ki (unlike other forums....) think twice....
We have 2 electrical engineers, acoustical engineers, people who compete in IASCA as often as I change socks, etc....
This section is NOT like others on s2ki.

honestly -- if nothing else, S2k;-) 's EJ badge should be taken away JUST because of his current sig:

doesn't this guy know that we only talk watts RMS in this shop?
if nothing else, that simple quote says everything i need to know about the merit of his technical advice.
otherwise, i don't recall any negative dealings with him... *shrug* i do know that Etronics sold me 1 good amp, and i have no complaints. however, i also went in w/ eyes wide open that warranty would be... questionable.
and i know that John has never sold me anything... everything he's done for me from advice to small parts has been for free... it's hard to complain about that...
so,
anyone else find Doug0716's sig amusing and ironic? 3 "top always down" graphics, and a pic of his car.... top up.
