thanks.. this is the best description on how to do it so far... i tried this but i can't seem to push the deck deep enough to do this.. its a pain to move the rca's too.. and there are other wires and harness back there
here is a tip on how to get the unit to move furthest back:

1. Connect the JVC/Honda harness to the car first
2. Tuck the harness to the desire position so it will clear the unit (right behind the SRS unit sitting flat, connector to the unit should be on the driver side, right side up), and make it stay there without the unit yet.
3. Connect the antenna wire to unit
4. Loosely zip-tie all the RCAs on the unit with one zip-tie, don

Tucking the wires is the second biggest pain in the ass.

take the harness to the drivers side. I wrapped a zip tie around it (as mentioned above, but I did it for both sides) and used it as a pull handle. Then I got upside down on the driverside floorboard and pulled the cables around some more (also, the black boxes will need to be moved around).

At the very back of the radio area, you'll find a sloping piece of plastic. It's annoying as it will push the back of the radio down and the front up. But just keep messing with it and it'll line up.

It takes some time, but it's really impressive to pop the radio door open and have a DVD playing back there already.

Thanks.. i think i will take up your offer..

I've added extensions I got from the dollar store for the RCAs .. The screen sure heats up from the sun.. i guess this is bad for the LCD. The screen is pretty useless with the sun on it.. can't see a thing.

I think its a good idea to have the door ready to be closed (when playing a music video) just in case a cop pulls up next to you.. I wonder how much a ticket would be.

With this setup, did anyone of you ran a DCI with it? I know Lucid auto and modifry makes a DCI for the HU.

Please let me know, I'm planning to do this install soon also.

Hi Guys,

I've just installed the AVX2 in my S2000 using the above instructions and it's working a treat. I can close the radio door and my dash controls work perfectly too. Thanks for a great installation guide.

Cool! I'm considering this unit or the Alpine 9857. It's nice to know that everything worked out for you.
