Default KCA-420i Adapter question

I've got a 9853 Alpine head unit with a KCA-420i iPOD adapter.

Recently, I cannot play my ipod through the head unit. The time ticks away and I can switch songs, so it's reading it. But there is no music coming through the speakers.

I bought another one, thinking it just might be the one I have, but the new one does the exact same thing.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what could fix it?

thanks

brendan

Did you turn up the volume on the Ipod? I use the 420i as well but I have the 9835, but either way it should work the same. Sounds like you have the mute button pushed or the sound turned down on the Ipod.

Well I'm sure its something stupid. I highly doubt you got 2 bad adapters. And the chances of your HU or your Ipod being bad are very slim.

Please list your entire sound system setup out.
