Looking to upgrade my OEM unit.

I like this model because it doesn't have 1 billion options, dancing bunnies all over the screen, and I think the muted sophisticated look would match the S interior.

Does anyone know if I can close the radio door without it pressing buttons?

Fits perfectly. I just put a 994 in mine.
Easiest HU install I've ever done. The bracket even lines up perfectly.

 

Cool, I've got a 994 sitting at my feet right now. As easy as the install is though, I probably won't get to it for a few weeks as I've got a few other big projects on other cars I'd like to get at first. If it's not too much trouble, could you post a picture of your install? Crutchfield says there will be a gap around the face plate and I'm wondering exactly how much gap that's going to be.

I just installed the X794 a week ago, fits perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised no gap what so ever. I am also extremely happy with the performance, flawless ipod integration with great sound output.

 

Yeah, don't know what they're talking about, there's no gap...
Also with the 994 (not sure about the other models), the amber color is a perfect match for the dash.
I got the Modifry wired DCI and the Modify harness. I couldn't be happier.
I'm installing the amp in the spare tire well tomorrow as well as some Aura Bass shakers in the seats.
Will try to take some pics and add something useful.

For the guys with the x994, how well does bluetooth work with the top off going 40 mph?

Does the factory speaker ohm rated to be compatible with the Kenwood? My S is 2006 (not sure if the that matters).

Also, where do i buy the Modifry wired DCI? Do I also need the plug and play wiring harness (for after market headunit without splicing)?
