Default kenwwod x995 issue

I just bought this headunit 2 days ago and I have having a problem. When I crack the volume up to 27 after about 15 minutes my high frequencies will fade in and out. Anyone have this issue before with this headunit or do I have a defective unit?

Personally I think it's the unit. Kenwoods typically will put themselves into a protect mode if a speaker is blown/grounding out. On the other hand, I don't know if a bad tweeter is enough to send it in protect mode.

It will actually cut all high frequencies and mid bass frequincies will remain playing. So a call to Kenwood it is thanks much.
