Default keyless remote distance?

Ok, is you guys' keyless remote distance as horrible as mine? Sometimes I can be standing next to the car and it will miss!

This was using both remotes that came with the car and I just had the factory security system installed which uses 2 new remotes and a new electronics box under the seat and it is no better, guess aftermarket is the way to go?

But seriously is there a reason for the interference? Or is it just my car? Even my garage door opener that I hard wired inside of the car has poor distance!

I can lock my Honda Element from across a decent sized parking lot!

This is my experience with my S2000. Something is peculiar with your car.

Anyone know where the "antenna" is for the remote locks?

If you've got the oem security system it's under the drivers seat pointing forward, reach under there and you'll feel it.

No. My '05 has crappy range too when I forget my tinfoil hat.

I have to be within a few feet of the car.

This is going to sound very odd, but the next time your remote does not work at a reasonable distance, point it to and touch your throat, open your mouth and try it.

I've heard of that and it doesn't seem to help much. My other car has a Viper and the range difference is farther than I could throw the remote!!!

My range is great in my MY04. Of course I don't have the alarm so this may be a factor. Maybe the antenna gets relocated to under the seat so range sucks? Sorry, I'm just speculating here.

Next suggestion:
Stick it in your pocket, take a Viagra, wait about 1/2 hour, open your fly, point your XXXX and try it. It might not open your car door, but you'll feel randy for the rest of the day.

Or, you can try a new battery.
