Default LED turn signals

I just got some LED turn signals for the rear 1156. They are not fitting, as the stubs are in the way. I jammed them in the socket and it still didn't work. I've cut one of the stubs off as per searching, but they're still not working. Any suggestions? I havnt put on the flasher relay but it still should work.

I've read both of those posts before I posted, esp yours, its actually one of my subscribed threads, but that doesn't help. I got the same bulbs as you, but neither are lighting. Do I need to put in the relay before the lights will even light?

LED's are directional, flip them around and try plugging it in.
