Default Light for the ashtray

Installed an ashtray,in the cupholder,(OEM),but it's dark as hell,at night.
Would need to install a small size light, that would go on,when I turn on the headlights.
Should not be to big,or too bright.
Any ideas???

Quit smoking!

I understand. I smoked for 10 years once upon a time.
You have many options, but this would be my choice. First, you can use this power tap that will turn on the light when you turn on the car's light switch.

Run power from this to a couple of LED bulbs (pick whatever color you think will do the job) that you can attach them to the underside of the cupholder lid. You can attach it using black duct tape that you cut neatly. Run the wires down into the center console and out near your right knee, then over to the fuse panel. There should be enough slack in the wires so that the lid can open and close unimpeded. The LEDs can be wired in parallel. If you don't like the lid as a mounting place, you can choose some other handy location in that area where they will illuminate the ash tray.

You can use an LED holder like this one:

I use them in my door handles.

The Radio Shack in the Baton Rouge "Mall of Louisiana" had tons of those in the bargain bin. Pretty neat and easy to use.

He lives in Quebec, Canada. I doubt he's going to Baton Rouge to pick up a couple 2 buck LEDs.
